My son loves this bike, and so do I! He loves the colors, the orange wheelwells, and the flames on the seat. I love that it doesn't say something negative like "Misfit" or "Trouble" or "Major Damage" - not exactly messages I want to send my 5 year old, kwim?

By NJ_teacher
Wow ... very disappointed. (See similar problems identified for an almost-identical bike here: Huffy 16-Inch Boys Pro Thunder Bike (Orange))The front wheel would not fit onto the "fork"; either the prongs of the fork had bent so that they were too close together, or they had been welded incorrectly. Huffy has agreed to send me a new fork, & they claim that "it's easy" to replace the old one .... so we'll see.**update: 2 hrs later -- one of the rear serrated nuts (that holds the wheel to the rear axle) is stripped, so it can't be attached. **I called Huffy 2x today, & after waiting for what seemed like weeks, they agreed to send me a new fork and a new nut. I got two separate stories from them. Re: the fork? That's a "shipping accident." There's *no way* that the fork could have been made incorrectly. (My take: not a shipping problem. The connectors at the end of each prong appear to be welded slightly too close together.) Re: the nut? "That's a problem we have when the bikes get sent to the U.S. from China. We don't have a chance to look inside each box to see if it was built correctly. That's why we [the Huffy Parts Center] are here -- to replace all the parts that don't work!"On each phone call, they were totally unapologetic -- they blamed amazon for the mis-welded fork & "China" for the stripped nut. I am never buying anything from Huffy again. I'd suggest amazon do the same, since -- with respect to the mis-welded fork -- they blamed the whole problem on "shipping."Really disappointing, particularly given that I purchased this for my 5-y.o. son, who was hysterical with excitement when the bike arrived.*update: received new fork in the mail from huffy as promised, but I *cannot* get the old fork off. reviewed manual, instructional videos, etc., but it's just stuck. looks like i'm off to spend additional $$ at a bike-repair shop ....

The bike was delivered fast but when we put it together, we realized that the inner tube was damaged. My son was really disappointed as this was a birthday gift.
