GREAT bike

We got this for my daughter for Christmas and it was an immediate hit. She LOVED it. I like that it doesn't SCREAM Cars but it has hints of it. It was fairly easy to put together and has held up well thus far. The paint job on it is actually very nice and we were impressed with the bike overall. It is the right size and I am sure she will get at least 18 months out of it. We could have gone bigger, but for her first "big kid" bike we wanted to make sure it fit her. Definitely would recommend for a 4 year old, especially one on the small size.

Fun Bike

Got this for my now 3 year old last summer. He is only recently able to peddle it himself. Had the right idea, but wasn't strong enough to get going on our street. Younger/smaller kids might have some problems at first. Now have a hard time getting him to get off it to come in for meals or bedtime.

Cheap but Expensive

Bike delivered late and it was damaged. Even if wasn't damage I would of been disappointed with the quality. Especially for $200.00. Should of went to Walmart same quality at more than half the price.

Too cute.

What a cute bike. My six year old is in love. Really nicely made. A great find. Only minor complaint would be the assembly instructions leave a little to be desired. Would not let this deter you however. Most comes assembled and the rest you should be able to figure out from the picture.

Not bad

I was worried about buying this bike because there was only one review with 5 stars, and that usually means that the bike seller's purchasing guy is the one creating the review. But I crossed my fingers and bought the bike for my daughter because I was in love with the style. There were also retro bikes at Walmart but didn't look as nice. I could find nothing on "Micargi" as a manufacturer. I went to my local Sears to inquire because they handle the brand, but they do not stock the product. There was no benefit to ordering from Sears - I was hoping that they would accept the bike as a return if I ordered from them but that was not the case; they just use their store as a portal to a third party - so STUPID! So anyway I ordered directly from Mr. Gs, and got the bike right away. I decided if the bike was junk I could at least come here and unload my woes in a review.The first thing is that the notice on the box clearly states "Have an authorized bike expert put together your bike". I opened it up and thought I'd give it a try first. The instructions were worthless, in "Chinglish" with really terrible illustrations referring to parts that were not in any way indicated on the illustrations. And the second step, putting the front wheel on the front fork, was physically impossible without disassembling the complicated-looking fork. So I tossed all the pieces into the trunk and took it over to the nice local bike store hippies.They assembled it for $65.00 which was money well spent, I think. I asked the bike store guy what he thought of the bike and he said that it seemed sturdy and that he didn't have anything bad to say about the Micargi brand, which he thought was probably a good sign.When we got the bike home I noticed that both fenders had soft, painted dents in them that looked like they were probably like that when the bike left the factory. Also as the other reviewer mentioned we also had a cracked plastic handlebar trim part.My daughter has just started practicing to ride and finds the bike to be sort of unwieldy and hard to turn, but she is just getting used to it. It seems just to be a more muscular, husky bike than comparable models from the 1970s. But it is a really cool looking bike and I hope that she can get some good use out of it before we pass it on to the next daughter.So, overall I am satisfied with the purchase, did not have any bad surprises and hope that it lasts for a few years.

Retro-Modern Beauty!

I bought this for my daughter for her 7th birthday. It was easy to assemble and it is a good quality. She's tall for her age and, even with the seat down and the handlebars back, it was a long reach while turning; however, she got used to it and now I can't keep up with her! She gets compliments from a lot of people and she loves it too. The combination of pearl pink and chrome looks fantastic! The only thing I don't like is the "chrome" rings on the handle grips. They're actually plastic and one of the rings was cracked during shipping. Other than that, the bike is made well.

Check to make sure its OK well before you give the gift!!

Ok, so I want to make it very clear that I am not reviewing shipping. The box came pristine. No dents, tears, or other marks of rough treatment. The way the bike lays in the box during shipping is fine, the fork is laid flat so I can't figure a way being crushed during shipping could be at play.So the kids have gone to bed, mom is taking the presents out of the closet to place under the tree. Meanwhile I begin the seemingly easy task of assembling this bike. It's really simple. Put on the seat, the handlebars, and the front tire. Buuuuut there's a huge problem: the front fork of the bike is pinched. It's about an INCH too narrow to allow the connection of that front tire. Living in an apartment with no access to a machine shop I have no tools or equipment to bend this thing back into position, especially at 10pm. It's a total show stopper for this gift.Everything about the bike seems to be of decent build quality. It has a few more things to put together than the other kids bikes I've assembled.I'll update this review if the replacement bike is so stellar that it overrides the failed xmas morning. My advice is to open this thing up as soon as you get it and assemble it to make sure it's going to go smoothly for you. If its not you'll need time to order and receive a replacement.

Good Bike

I bought this bike for my 2 yr old for Christmas 2011. He loves the Buzz decals and loves riding it. Once it was assembled, it was a 5 Star product. Before, however, is another story. The instructions are HORRIFIC! They are tiny in print and nearly impossible to understand and follow. They are not numbered, the pictures are as small as the words and the instructions aren't written in complete sentences. Much is left to imagination as to how to figure things out. The instruction book seems to be for a number of different bikes and you have to figure out how set of various instructions apply to your particuliar bike. It took me, my dad and my grandfather the better part of 90 mins to assemble it. Just as frustrating, when I unloaded the bike, the decals/stickers were already unpeeling from the bike. Not all of the velcro on the front Buzz pieces worked and I'm waiting to hear from the company on replacing them. Over-all, the bike is sturdy and durable. My son loves it and, once it was put together, I really didn't have too many issues with it.
