We purchased this for our son who is just over 3. He never really took to his big wheel and when we tried sitting him on bicycles with training wheels he seemed bored. He immediately took to the balance bike - he asks to ride it all the time and we have had to tell him not to ride it in the house. We gave it to him for Christmas and he told everybody it was the best gift he recieved. The bike arrived in a fairly small box but was extremely simple to put together. The frame is a solid peice with the rear tire already affixed. The only other parts are the seat, front fork with tire and handlebars. Generally, everything assembles by hand relying on washers and torque clamps to hold things in place. I used a tool to tighten the handlebars but otherwise did the whole thing by hand in under 20 minutes. Our son is about 37" tall; he is using the seat that came with the bike but I think we will need to buy the other seat that has a longer post in the near future. The tires aren't actual rubber tires; they're solid plastic so I'm not sure how they'll hold up but seem to ride fine when the bike is in use.We paid $89 dollars plus shipping and felt it was well worth it.

Great starter - gave it to my 2 year old grandson but his 4 yr old brother likes it, too.
