Glide Bikes Go Glider Kid's Balance Bike, Green, 16-Inch

Product Description

The Go Glider from Glide Bikes allows children to gain confidence, improve motor skills, increase coordination, and learn balance at their own pace all while having fun! Balance Bikes do not have training wheels and pedals to get in the way, so children learn the important first step in riding a bike- BALANCE! Pushing off with alternating feet as if the child were running from a seated position, the child can learn balance and control. Once the child becomes more stable they begin to glide with their feet off the ground. Glide Bikes also incorporates a unique foot peg system to allow kids to have a place to rest their feet while gliding. These pegs can be locked into place with one simple to use, tool-free pin allowing the foot pegs to be installed or removed in seconds. As your child develops balance and begins gliding, they can place their feet on the foot pegs and get accustomed to the natural foot position present on a traditional bicycle. Another important aspect of learning to ride with a Glide Bikes balance bike is how they help build a child's confidence. The problem with bikes that depend on training wheels is the lack of control and stability and the higher probability of tip-overs. This makes the child more prone to injuries and takes the fun out of riding a bike. With the Go Glider, riders have a lower center of gravity which increases stability similar to a sports car in comparison to a tall sport utility vehicle. We also design our bikes using downhill mountain bike geometry which also increases stability and allows for the lowest balance speed of 1.5 MPH. Unlike the heavy kid's bikes with training wheels, we use high quality, lightweight materials so that children can lift the bike by themselves and avoid getting trapped underneath the bike if they do fall. These are all very important features built into our bikes to make your child's experience a safe and fun one!

57 Yr old Learns to ride in 2 days
By ktwerp
Really did the trick for my 7yr old. Working in a controlled access parking lot for an hour we quickly mastered balance, steering and control. Built up confidence and on the second day after an hour moved to his bike and never looked back! 5yr old sibling now ready to try too.PROS:Sized for older kids to use/learn w/ hand breakVery lightweight, makes control easyIncludes foot pegs that swivel out if neededVery easy to adjust seat (quick change between kids)Metal framework no wood to warp or outside storage weather worriesFun to glide around on even after they learn to bikeCONS:Cost (paid @ $78, but will avg out for three kids to learn/use.)Some assembly required, but not bad.Could use better instructions visually hard to read printOverall would recommend to a friend that's frustrated and trying to teach their kids (especially older) how to ride.

5My kiddo can ride a bike now!
By gillable
I tried for years to get my 7 year old riding. It took him only 1 week riding this glider to get the concept down, and go back to his pedal bike. He still like to get on it and glide around.

1Defective
By Naama
I returned the bike. It was defective, the handlebar turned only a few degrees in one direction and almost all the way around in the other direction. The problem was in the cheap chinese manufacturing process the part that was to limit handlebar movement was not centered before it was welded into the frame. This is what we get when people are paid pennies an hour in slave labor Chinese factories
