Product Description
If you can walk you can ride.
Balance Bikes by Mojo Cycling have no pedals and no training wheels. The ZUM Bike uses a foot to floor motion as a means of propulsion. The Bike is perfect for developing coordination and balance without the anxiety of training wheels. By learning balance first, the transition from the ZUM Balance Bike to a traditional geared bicycle with pedals is made VERY easy.
These bikes are constructed with the following features: 100% Clear Top Grade Birchwood - Patented steering that helps prevent Jack knife accidents - Rubber handgrips to protect little hands and the end of the handlebar from scuffs - Sealed cartridge bearings for maintenance free, silent and smooth running wheels - Rubber air inflated tires make for a smooth ride - High grade steel fasteners - Padded Vinyl Seat - Adjustable Seat Height - Non Toxic Lacquer Finish - ASTM Certified - Sustainably Harvested Wood.
This bike is great for children (ages 2-6) that are just learning to ride. No peddles, and no brakes make this one of the easiest bikes for young riders to get around on.
These bikes are built for years of enjoyment.

This is a nice looking bike - longer than expected when assembled; the overall length is 3 feet, with the center of the banana seat positioned 2/3rds of the way toward the rear, i.e., exactly 1 foot from the back of the rear tire and 2 feet from the front of the forward tire, giving it the look of a chopped motorcycle and the maneuverability as well. The steering 'arc' is broad, not allowing for tight turns. The reviewer who mentioned that the seat assembly is a nightmare is correct -- you need an extra set of hands, and strong hands at that; we dread the day when our 2.5yr old granddaughter requires the seat to be raised. There are no foot rests for coasting as I've noticed on other models; I don't know if the omission is a negative. Regarding another reviewers comment about tire marks on the floor, we have hardwood floors and I haven't noticed any marks. However, a new rider shouldn't be navigating around furniture anyway; this bike is clearly meant for an outside straightaway for the purpose of gaining confidence over speed and balance. This was a Christmas gift so we plan to give the ZUM bike a trial run and return it to Costco if it poses an awkward challenge for our granddaughter. She's new at this, so maybe she'll do just fine.

Great bike, my 3 year never wants to get off. He learned how to balance within a week and was coasting 100's of feet downhill in no time. Walking with him down the street he get's tons of looks from people as I don't think anyone is expecting to see such a little guy riding a bike...and a wooden bike no-less.Excellent customer service from Zum bike guys. I was missing some parts and they promptly sent me the extra pieces I needed.

We bought a Zum and a Skuut at the same time for our two sons, over a year ago, just in case one was better quality than the other. We are so glad we did. The Zum has had the front bottom bolt/nut come off twice already (customer service sent us a replacement the first time, and we are currently waiting to see what they do this time), the red handles discolored in a few months, the seat cover completely wore off within months, the wood looks old, the nuts look rusty... The Skuut is in much better shape. We store them in the same place and they have about the same wear and tear (the Zum a bit more, but not enough to justify the bad shape it's in compared to the Skuut).
