I ordered this bike for my granddaughter 3 1/2 years old. She has previously learned bike balance on a small pedal-less bike. Upon arrival, I was surprised by the weight of this bike. It is sturdy, but at least 6 lbs too heavy for its size. Also, pedals were of such poor quality, that they did not spin freely on their spindles. As she tried to pedal, they rotated with the cranks and were slipping from under her shoe soles. I ended up buying a set of new pedals from a bike shop for $15.The bike has front fork suspension which is unnecessary for this size of bike and on top of it, it is very stiff for a small child, making it useless. Eliminating the suspension could shave off 2-3 lbs of the weight. Apart from these shortcomings, I liked the front brake being there, although it also is a bit stiff - hard to squeeze handle for a child.

It took almost a week for the bike to be shipped, but once we got it, we are very happy with it. The bike is built very sturdy, almost as heavy as our 20-inch youth bike. The colors are very bright. The seat adjusts easily with the lever, so kids at different heights can take turns riding it. A very good bike.

This bike was purchased for my 2.5 year old son for Christmas. I have a seven-year-old daughter as well so am considering the differences between the bikes we have purchased for her over the years. I did a lot of research before selecting this bike and am thrilled with it.ProsGreat bright color for visibility! It is hard to miss this bike.Very solid construction and quality parts.Hand break is a very nice feature for a 12" bike!Very easy to assemble.Great design by Jeep. Any kid riding this bike automatically looks cool.This bike arrived very quickly.I'm not sure how, but this bike seems a little bigger than the average 12" bike. My daughter rides a 16" and when they are side by side, there is very little difference between the frames, just the wheels. This will likely extend the amount of time my little guy can ride this bike.ConsJust cannot think of any. This bike is a great bike for the money.Bottom line: This bike is a much better quality bike what I have seen offered at places like Walmart, Target and Toys R Us. Granted, there are much more expensive bikes you can find out there, but I feel that for a 12" bike, this bike is excellent and a great price. My 2.5 year old was riding like a pro within a week. Well, with steering and pedaling, I admit his breaking skills aren't there yet, but he isn't even three so I'll cut him some slack. He is thrilled to have a big boy bike and ride alongside his big sister.
